Daniel Karslake is a Berlin-based American filmmaker whose latest feature, FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO, about four religious families who discover they have a gay or trans child, premiered in competition at the Tribeca Film Festival and won numerous film festival prizes around the world. His first film, FOR THE BIBLE TELLS ME SO, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, has been translated into 25 languages, and was short-listed for an Academy Award. Teresa & Todd Silver

Executive Producers

Teresa and Todd are philanthropists committed to fostering an inclusive community where all individuals can thrive. Their dedication was further amplified when their adult son came out as gay. This personal experience motivated them to serve as Executive Producers for the films FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO and 1946: THE MISTRANSLATION THAT SHIFTED CULTURE. Now, they are pleased to join Karslake as collaborators on this new documentary, with the sincere hope that it will facilitate understanding and connection between diverse individuals.

Executive Producers

Jane (retired attorney) & Tami (retired teacher and psychologist) are a married couple who live in Salt Lake City, Utah. Having experienced the reality of working, raising children, and grandchildren, while living in a conservative culture, and not being recognized, they have been long-time supporters of the eye-opening and heart-opening work of Daniel Karslake. Since Tami first met Dan at a Human Rights Campaign Board of Governors meeting in the early 2000s, they have enthusiastically supported several of his film projects.

Erica DiMambro

Producer

Erica comes to the film with a passion for understanding that while people may have vastly different views, they do have the same goal which is to make a better world for our future. She also lends her strong project management and fiscal background to the overall production activities to the film.

Kaya Caouki

Producer

Kaya Caouki is a recent graduate of Duke University, majoring in Visual & Media Studies (Cinematic Arts concentration) and Political Science. He is currently in the agent training program at United Talent Agency (UTA) in Los Angeles. He has experience working in both the scripted and unscripted space across various branches of the industry, from talent management to development.

Sheri Heitker

Producer EMERITUS

Sheri Heitker is a co-executive producer of EVERY THREE SECONDS, a feature doc about ending poverty, and a producer of FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO which celebrated its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival. She is also the Founder and Executive Director of Keep Her Safe, a non-profit mobilizing parents to stop campus sexual assault. She lives in Orlando with her husband, Mark.
